The Emergency Scheme has been put in place to give peace of mind to carers when they are out and about without their "cared for". The Carer would be issued with a credit size card. The carer carries it at all times so that it can be used as an instant source of identification in case of accident or sudden illness. The card does not have any personal details on it, only the telephone number of a central help line. In an emergency situation, either the carer, or if unable to, a member of the emergency services or the public could telephone the number and quote the registration number printed on the card. The call centre uses the registration number to easily access your pre-arranged emergency plan and put it into action. This free service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The system is completely confidential, no personal details are shown on the card. For further information, please call 01233 664393
